[Birthday Bash] Have Some More S'mores, Won't Ya?

Hello again! How is the weekend going... any crafting planned? We do have a few challenges open... *hint hint* The more the merrier...and a few challenges are closing tomorrow, so you still have time to squeeze on in. For those who have already participated, thanks so much! Chances are looking incredibly good for you! So let's round up some questions...

Birthday Bash Q&A
Back to this question...

Happy Birthday, or rather Birthmonth! What a wonderful idea to celebrate all month long, and to share inspiration with us! My answer to your question: suggestions for 'must have' sets for those of us new to card-making, and who are looking for as much versatility as possible! Thanks for asking - and especially, for investing time, energy and creativity for this 'party'!

Wanna hear my take?

"I have to agree with all my DT sisters that "Kindness Matters," "Fresh Blooms," "Just Thinking of You" and "On the Strip / On the Strip 2" make good starter sets. But since they covered those, I thought I'd give you some alternatives that follow my rule of thumb. I look for great background or fun designs that can be used for any occasion. So along with ""On the Strip / On the Strip 2," "Little Tangles" is an obvious choice. By choosing to stamp in different colors, or color between each imprint, or embossing those designs, there is already enough versatility to create water waves, christmas garland lights, or whatever creative interpretation. With great background sets and the right color choices, the design can already pre-determine it for the right audience (i.e. young / old, girl / boy). Add some fun alphas, stickers, or thickers, and the card has a sentiment. If I have to have a sentiment set, then I usually look for those that are generic enough that I would use over and over again. I tend to make "Hello" "Thinking of You" "Happy Birthday" cards a lot. Christmas / Winter Holidays is probably the one seasonal exception. So I try to find sentiments like "Across the Card" that I know I would use a lot."

Anyways, there you have it. Feel free to agree or disagree... :)

Are you ready to see our next guest post today? It's a jaw dropping card & party favor by Tracey McNeely. She hails all the way from the Great White North, and her designs have caught our attention multiple times. You can see why...

I am thrilled today to be a guest designer for the 1st Birthday celebration of Neat and Tangled stamps.
Neat and Tangled is a stamp company founded by Danielle Walls.  Danielle is the sweetest and her stamps make a perfect impression every time, even right out of the package.

The whole purpose of the Birthday Bash is to celebrate and today I am going to share some photos from my Pinterest S'mores Party mood board.
The perfect kind of summertime party!
