[Birthday Bash] Party Decos as Easy as One-Two-Three

Hello again! We are back with a special post from one the most enthusiastic Neat & Tangled supporters that I know.

Birthday Bash Q&A
Remember this question?

Happy Birthday, or rather Birthmonth! What a wonderful idea to celebrate all month long, and to share inspiration with us! My answer to your question: suggestions for 'must have' sets for those of us new to card-making, and who are looking for as much versatility as possible! Thanks for asking - and especially, for investing time, energy and creativity for this 'party'!

Barb Murphy is up today with her take on the question:

"I think that One the Strip 2 and Just Thinking of You are the perfect starter sets. With a few different colors of inks you can save money by creating your own woodgrain, polka dot and plaid patterns (to mention just a few). Thinking of You has that medium scale bubble/cloud and a pretty script sentiment which can be fun or elegant. It's perfect for every occasion when paired with a note on the inside..."thinking of you" on your birthday, graduation, retirement, anniversary..."thinking of you" during this difficult time, as you heal, and your loved ones."

Isn't our Barb a smart one? I couldn't agree more with these wise words. While you go mull over what Barb said, let's get to our guest designer post. Today we have the uber-talented Virginia Lu here. She's been a Guest Designer for Neat & Tangled, and a faithful supporter since Day 1. We also see her stopping by our Little Tangles blog very often and leaving us sweet comments. We love you, Virginia. Check out her jaw-dropping creations...

Part 1: birthday cards
Alcohol inks + vellum+ gold embossed flowers

Part 2: Party invites
Stamping + white embossing +sequins +gold embossed flowers (small)

Part 3: Party utensil holder
Stamp 4 houses in a row and white-emboss, score at 4 1/2” , Stamp Little Tangle for the borders on top, trim and assemble

tip: for the inside of the holder, simply use a Styrofoam bowl to keep the utensils in place

Here is the entire project

Hugs, Virginia Lu

What do you think of this amazing card? Virginia, I adore your color palette. It's pretty amazing. And how about Virginia's utensil holder? Yeah, my jaw is still wide open. And I love how she repurposed the house and added a cute little grass trim. Those flowers? Words don't describe...I would love to see a tutorial on those. Who's with me? "Tu-to-rial, Tu-to-Rial, Tu-To-Rial!" Hoping the masses will chant with me, so that Virginia's will put one up ;)

We have a few challenges open, so check the side bar. It's not too late to enter, and each of them has a few fabulous prizes. Who doesn't want free sequins, a $5 gift card, or a Guest Design Spot?

That's a wrap. Come back tomorrow to meet our next guest designer. Can you guess who it is? Hint: she will be around a lot more to provide you with amazing Neat & Tangled inspirations. I'm feeling generous, so how about a free pack of sequins to any correct guesses? Ta for now.

Such inspiration, beginning with Barb's suggestions for 'starter stamps' for those of us who are newcomers to card-making, as well as those who are already well-versed!
